Once you have returned your students’ final exam outcomes to us, you’ll be able to generate your value-added reports. These will give you insights into the impact you’ve had on your student’s progress which you can use for self-evaluation. You’ll know where to ask questions about subject strengths; be able to identify and share good practice; and identify places where you need to make changes.
We calculate value-added by finding the difference between a student’s predicted grade and their final exam grade (the residual). We then standardise residuals so you can compare residuals in different subjects. Residuals show how much better (or less well) students and subjects have done than predicted.
School Value-Added Report
- Useful for school leaders.
- See average standardised residuals for each subject.
- Identify subjects where there is evidence of higher (green bars) or lower (pink/red bars) progress than predicted i.e. where residuals extend beyond confidence limits.
School Performance Report
- Useful for heads of department and senior leaders.
- See how each subject has performed over time.
Identify trends and explore factors which have impacted on outcomes to drive improvement.
Subject Value-Added Report
- Useful for heads of department and subject teachers.
- See how individual students performed against their prediction.
Identify students to use as case-studies, explore their learning journey and identify what went well or what you could change in the future.
