How does BASE relate to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for emerging, expected and exceeding bands?

We did not design the BASE assessment to map directly to the Early Year Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework or profile for England. BASE does not currently include the assessment of all Early Learning Goals (ELG), but there are broad similarities between the assessment and the framework in the following:

• Literacy
• Mathematics
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
