How should I carry out the BASE assessment?

We recommend that the assessment is carried out away from the rest of the class in an environment where the child feels comfortable. The assessment doesn’t have to be carried out by the class teacher (although you will learn so much about your pupils it is recommended) and the same teacher doesn’t have to carry out all of the assessments. Each assessment takes about 20 minutes, and if you use the web version, the results are sent straight back to us after the assessment is carried out.
